About Pack 107

Pack 107 Vision

Our Pack has been a well-respected part of the Golden Empire Council of the Boy Scouts of America since 1997. We began with the goals of providing fellowship between homeschooling families and to reinforce the education of boys who were specifically homeschooled and a vision to uphold God’s teachings. Pack 107 was the only option in Sacramento with these unique goals.

Our Pack still consists of mostly homeschooling families, but we are opening our doors and warmly welcome Christian families who do not homeschool as well. In Fall of 2018 we began to offer both girls and boys dens for children ages 5-10 (K-5th grades).

Your child can begin the scouting path at the age of 5 and can continue on to Boy Scouts once they reach the age of 11. Most of our Cub Scouts continue on with Troop 107, which meets the same night and location as Pack 107.

Our primary mission is focused on helping your child:

  • Build Positive Moral Character
  • Learn Good Citizenship Skills
  • Enjoy the Outdoors & Fitness
  • Grow Spiritually
  • Serve Others

and of course…HAVE FUN!!!

The Scout Oath & Law

Part of character development is wrapped up in The Scout Oath & Law that every child learns:

Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best, To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Meetings

Den meetings are held every Tuesday night from September through May where our Scouts meet and work on Adventures together. Learning is hands-on with plenty of time for games, skits, setting goals, building friendships and other fun activities. There are also a variety of other events that you can attend throughout the year such as:

  • Scout Expo / Camporee
  • Campouts & Hikes
  • Eternal Flame
  • Field Trips
  • Service Projects
  • Pinewood Derby

During Den and Pack meetings, your child will have many opportunities to participate in a healthy and safe environment with well-trained adults who follow all of the Boy Scouts of America codes of conduct. This kind of camaraderie is valuable.

Costs

There are a variety of costs associated with scouting. The average scout pays around $165 per year to participate in our pack. This covers Dues, Building use fees, and activity fees associated with den activities.

Various opportunities for fundraising can help to pay for some or all of the fees. Scholarship programs are also available, to help offset the costs with joining our pack. A clothing closet is available to help with supplying your Scout with a uniform. This is free for any Scout to use. More details are available upon request.
